Thank you for visiting my website.

My name is Jonathan Dunsky. I'm an Israeli public speaker and author of historical mysteries and crime fiction.

I was born and raised in Israel, where most of my fiction takes place.

Despite not being a native English speaker, I write in English, and my books are beloved by readers from around the world.

As a young teenager, I decided to know English thoroughly. To accomplish this goal, I began reading books in English with a dictionary at my elbow. Every time I encountered an unfamiliar word, I would look it up in the dictionary. It's a habit I persist in to this day.

My main body of work is the Adam Lapid Mysteries series. Set primarily in Israel in the 1940s and '50s. The Adam Lapid novels are historical mysteries set against the fascinating historical background of the young State of Israel.

The Jewish Book Council published this review of the series: "Jonathan Dunsky's Adam Lapid detective series is full of twists and turns, dark secrets, and thrilling suspense--all set against the backdrop of the end of WWII."

The Adam Lapid series is perfect for fans of hardboiled detective fiction, historical mysteries, and historical fiction.

In addition to the Adam Lapid series, I'm the author of the standalone crime thriller The Payback Girl and several short stories in various genres.

As a public speaker, I'm often asked to talk about Israeli and Jewish history, the art of writing, and how mystery fiction and history combine to create fascinating stories.
