The past few days in Israel have been tense. Even as our soldiers continue to fight in Gaza and along our northern border with Lebanon, Israeli citizens await an anticipated attack by Iran and its many proxies.
What form this attack will take is anyone's guess. In April, Iran launched hundreds of rockets, missiles, and drones against Israel, an attack that largely failed, so people expect something akin to that, though on a bigger scale.
But it could be something else. Who knows?
So the mood is somber, and people are wary, even as we do our best to proceed with our daily lives.
This is easier said than done. Business isn't as usual when you think hundreds of explosive projectiles may start heading your way at any moment. Many people have pulled their children out of summer school and are keeping them at home. I am doing the same with my two sons. If there's an attack, I want them nearby, where I can comfort them.
Still, I'm trying to get a little work done. This blog post is an example. But my main focus is going over the approximately thirty thousands words I have written in the next Adam Lapid book. This is something I do often when I write, especially after I take a break from writing. I use what I wrote before as a springboard for the next part of the story.
I'm excited by what I've written so far. I think this is shaping up to be a great story. I hope that soon the situation in Israel will improve that I could focus on it fully again.
